An ongoing retainer,built around Circa.
Circa 1884 is a cocktail bar in Berwick’s former courthouse. They came to Visual State for photography and video content for social media, and became one of our first clients.
They needed a regular supply of content that reflected a visit to the venue: what was on the table, what was being poured and what was happening next. The work began on retainer and continues today.
We photograph and film the venue, food, drinks and events. Across the ongoing shoots, that means capturing both the finished dish or cocktail and the people and preparation behind it. Event promotions sit alongside that day-to-day content.

For a hospitality business, the food and drinks need to look as inviting online as they do at the table. Our photography for Circa moves between close-up details, preparation in the kitchen and guests enjoying the venue.
The selection here includes gnocchi being finished with cheese, cocktails from the bar and the terrace with guests. Together, these photographs give Circa a range of subjects for its social channels, from a single menu item to the atmosphere around it.

What the ownersare hearing.
Circa’s owners tell us customers have been commenting on the quality of their social content. They have also reported some of the venue’s biggest trading days during our time together, including Fridays and Saturdays in the middle of winter.
Our promotional work has included Mother’s Day and other events at the venue. According to the owners, the events we have created promotions for have sold out, with repeat dates added after further enquiries.
The relationship is still on retainer. We continue producing photography and video as Circa’s menu, seasons and events give us new things to put in front of their audience.
